The “lovely singing” of the Sicilian ensemble Amabilcanto brings the sun of Southern Italy to the most remote regions of Germany. In their new program “The Countries of the Sun,” the musical enthusiasts led by conductor Gianfranco Giordano present a wide range of songs from Naples and Sicily that were created in the first half of the last century. For the liveliness of the performance combined with historical-philological accuracy, the ensemble, founded in 2023, has already received awards and recognitions from Naples (Sant’Anna di Lombardi, 2024) and Palermo (Chiesa del Carmine a Ballaró, 2025). Incidentally, the group’s musical home is in classical music, where the ensemble is known under the name Coro Cantate Omnes and has performed, among others, with the Orchestra Palermo Classica and the Kiel Chamber Orchestra.
